Healthcare

Our Advantage

Today healthcare systems continue to battle treatment-resistant strains of bacteria and viruses both in how to effectively treat them and how to effectively prevent them. Excelyte® eliminates this problem by not only killing the bacteria present, but by disrupting the mitochondrial DNA eliminating any possibility of resistance mutation. The same cannot be said for other chemical biocides, dinsinfectants, and even many antibiotics.

There are 5,750 US hospitals. The average hospital will experience 348 cases of hospital acquired infection, resulting in 17 deaths, annually. Per the CDC, the average hospital will spend almost 13 million dollars annually dealing with hospital acquired infections. There are also 16,100 nursing homes, 5,000 ambulatory surgical centers and 230,000 physician practices in the US.

Daily disinfection is the best practice for preventing and eliminating the bacteria and viruses causing HAIs (hospital acquired illness). Disinfection is in addition to standard janitorial cleaning services. University General Hospital recently became the first hospital in the nation to utilize Excelyte® as a primary disinfectant.

Excelyte® has been tested, proven, and registered by the EPA (82341-1) and classified as a broad spectrum, tuberculocidal hospital disinfectant, against bacteria and viruses including MRSA, Pseudomonas, HIV, H1N1, Salmonella, E. coli, Klebsiella, Listeria, VRE and C. diff on contaminated, hard, non-porous surfaces.  Excelyte® meets the disinfection requirements of OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogen Guidelines.  It has also been accepted by the USDA for food safety applications.

Hard surface disinfection includes:

  • Patient rooms and common areas
  • Patient bed railings and frames
  • Patient restrooms
  • OR’s, ICU’s, CCU’s and ER’s
  • Examination and procedure rooms
  • Nurses’ Stations
  • Medical equipment surfaces
  • Transportation services
  • Laboratories
  • Food Services
  • Neonatal Nurseries
  • Physical Therapy Room
  • Dental office countertops and chairs

Hospitals are now responsible for hospital- acquired infections. MRSA, C. diff are real, epidemic-level problems. Recent lab testing shows Excelyte’s® effectiveness against more pathogens and will result in expanded EPA label claims.
